ACTORS FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE IN EDUCATION

The Nordic Centre of Excellence ’Justice through Education in the Nordic Countries’ organises a pre-conference in Helsinki, 8-9 March 2016 (from lunch to lunch).

Keynote speaker: Heidi Safia Mirza, Professor of Race, Faith & Culture, Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Open for all 9 March: “Are the Nordic systems of education providing a fair and equal education for all students?” Panel discussion with Director General Anna Ekström, Swedish National Agency for Education;  Director General Aulis Pitkälä, Finnish National Board of Education; and  Professor John B. Krejsler, Aarhus University, Denmark.

At 4 p.m. Harriet Strandell, University lecturer in sociology at the Department for Social Research, University of Helsinki, starts her lecture called: After-school activities in Finland – educare or supervision?
