BLUS
Blus is a social, educational and cultural organization run by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students in Copehagen and around. It welcomes everyone to take part in their activities, regardless of occupation, age, sexual orientation and gender identity. The main purpose is to create a space where people can meet each other, learn things, and have an impact on what goes on. BLUS nights are held twice per month in a cafe in Studenterhuset (i.e. Student House of Copenhagen), from 7 pm onwards. Each night starts with program, but you can choose whether you want to attend this or come a bit later just to hang out and meet people. In addition to the weekly café, we have other events popping up every once in a while

LGBT Asylum
LGBT+ persons applying for asylum in Denmark or having a permit to stay as refugees experience solitude, harassment, difficult mental challenges and rejection, due to lack of knowledge about LGBT+ problems. LGBT Asylum is working to change that.

LGBT+ Ungdom
LGBT+ Ungdom is a Danish national non-profit NGO that works with political activism, counselling, social work, and events for queer youth under the age of 25, as well as youth who break the norms of sexuality and gender identity. The purpose of the NGO is to work towards political, social, cultural, and labour market equality, on all levels of society, as well as providing a safe space for queer youth.

Samtökin ‘78 . The National Queer Organisation of Iceland
Samtökin ‘78 is a queer interest and activism association that has existed in Iceland since 1978, giving us our name. Our purpose is to ensure that lesbians, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, intersex, trans people and other queer people are visible, acknowledged and enjoy full rights in Icelandic society, regardless of their country of origin.
Samtökin ‘78 offers:
– presentations, workshops and training programs for school groups, professionals, work places and other organizations. The goal is to educate the public on queer people and queer issues in Iceland.
– free social counselling to queer people, their families and professionals. Our counsellors have extensive experience working with queer people. The counselling is free of charge and fully confidential. No issue is too big or too small to discuss with them.
– fee legal assistance on the rights of queer people. Our lawyer specializes in the rights of queer people and can assess whether you need to file a court case or provide other advice.
– presentations, workshops and training programs for school groups, professionals, work places and other organizations. The goal is to educate the public on queer people and queer issues in Iceland.

TRANS ISLAND
Trans-Iceland was founded in 2007 and has been in operation since then. The association supports trans people in Iceland and for years advocates for trans people in Iceland. The association holds monthly meetings and usually meets in the premises of the Association ’78 on Suðurgata 3. Events are advertised on the association’s Facebook page.

Trans-Ísland var stofnað árið 2007 og hefur verið starfrækt síðan þá. Félagið eru stuðnings- og baráttu samtök fyrir trans fólk á Íslandi og hefur í gegnum tíðina verið helstu málsvari trans fólks á Íslandi.
Félagið heldur úti mánaðarlega fundi og hittast oftast í húsnæði Samtakanna ’78 á Suðurgötu 3. Viðburðir eru auglýstir á Facebook síðu félagsins. Öll þau sem að eru í hugleiðingum, vantar fræðslu eða langar að kynnast öðru trans fólki er velkomið að mæta. Félagið tekur einnig virkan þátt í Hinsegin dögum og heldur minningardag trans fólks ár hvert.

FRI – Foreningen for kjønns- og seksualitetsmangfold er en landsomfattende organisasjon som arbeider politisk og sosialt for at mennesker som bryter med normer for kjønn og seksualitet skal kunne leve åpent uten frykt for å bli sosialt utstøtt, diskriminert eller trakassert. Vi jobber for deg og dine rettigheter! FRI har ca 3300 medlemmer fordelt på 11 fylkeslag. Organisasjonen har til sammen 20 ansatte i varierende stillingsbrøker, men de fleste som jobber for og med FRI gjør dette på frivillig basis.
