tomorrow, Lucie Plestilova will give a talk about

Hearing Specialization to the Subterranean Environment.

Lucie Plestilova, of the University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic, is a PhD student of Ema Knotkova-Hrouzkova, who spoke last year in BKK on the acoustic communication of mole rats including subsonic communications. Lucie’s masters thesis was on the ear morphology of the chinese bamboo rat and it’s subterranean specializations. Her PhD studies, which will be the topic of the talk, continue this work across the whole of Rodentia.
