Oxford Historical Treaties is  the resource for historical treaty research and home to the full text of The Consolidated Treaty Series (CTS),

the collection of treaties of all nations concluded from 1648 through 1919.

Full text of the individual treaties from within the series are reproduced as pdf:s exactly as they appear in the printed series.

The treaty titles and introductory information are searchable for example by treaty party, citation, and date or date range.

Trials: American Indian Newspapers and American Indian Histories and Cultures until 3.12

University of Helsinki has access to American Indian Newspapers and American Indian Histories and Cultures.

American Indian Newspapers presents the publications of a range of communities, with an extensive list of periodicals produced in the United States and Canada, including Alaska, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Nevada and Oklahoma, from 1828 to 2016. The newspapers include national periodicals as well as local community news and student publications.

American Indian Histories and Cultures contains 130,000 volumes, over one million manuscript pages, 2,000 maps, 500 atlases, 11,000 photographs, and 3,500 drawings and paintings. The collection covers not only American Indian history, but archaeology, voyages, exploration and accounts of early America, the development of cartography, Philippine and Hawaiian history, and Central and South American history.

Colonial America will make available all 1,450 volumes of the CO 5 series from The National Archives, UK, covering the period 1606 to 1822. CO 5 consists of the original correspondence between the British government and the governments of the American colonies.

On Trial: Victorian Popular Culture and Literary Manuscripts Berg until 12.11

University of Helsinki has access to Victorian Popular Culture and Literary Manuscripts Berg until 12.11.

Victorian Popular Culture is a portal comprised of four modules, inviting users into the darkened halls, small backrooms, big tops and travelling venues that hosted everything from spectacular shows and bawdy burlesque, to the world of magic, spiritualist séances, optical entertainments and the first moving pictures.

 

Most of these unique manuscripts in Literary Manuscripts Berg are unavailable in any medium elsewhere. They are supplemented by some rare printed materials, including early editions annotated by the authors. Each author collection is included in its entirety, allowing users to browse and search the manuscripts as they would in the Berg Reading Room. Authors represented in this collection include The Bröntes, Joseph Conrad, Charles Dickens, George Eliot, Thomas Hardy, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Alfred Tennyson, William Makepeace Thackeray and many others.

Dead Sea Scrolls online available permanently

Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library is available permanently in the University of Helsinki network.

For the first time in history the texts and images of all the Dead Sea Scrolls – both Biblical texts and Non-Biblical texts – are available in their totality on the Internet.

The databases are based on the Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library CD-ROM, published by Brill and Brigham Young University. Both databases present a complete Hebrew transcription and English translation of texts, together with high-resolution images.

Geofacets contains 1.75 million easily discoverable and downloadable maps, figures, and tables from nearly 100 esteemed scientific publications.

You can use Geofacets to:

  • Provide scientific backup for original analyses
  • Integrate published data with proprietary models in a GIS platform
