Sample Preparation in Proteomics
24.9.2013
Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre Hanasaari, Espoo.
Course is organized together with Finnish Proteomic Society (FinnProt)Sample preparation is a crucial step in proteomics and the success of every experiment relies on it. Yet it is often not obvious what the best way to handle a specific sample is. The participants will get to know different approaches and give an overview of the techniques as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Lectures will be held by international speakers with experience in different techniques.Additionally there will be round-table workshops based on applications like shotgun proteomics, clinical proteomics, 2D gels, etc. During these round-table discussions students using or planning to use proteomics can discuss with senior scientists about the challenges of the applications, how they can avoid mistakes or trouble-shoot already existing problems.

Sosiaalinen havaitseminen ja tunnetilat ihmisillä ja muilla eläinlajeilla: monitieteinen näkökulma
II Periodi (29.10. – 17.12.2013), Ti 10-12 Viikki, Koetilantie 7 (oppilasrakennus), 2.krs, sh
Kurssin opettaja FT Miiamaaria Kujala
ANIWEL-tohtoriohjelman tarjoama kurssi
Miten tunnetiloista ja aikeista kertovia ilmeitä, eleitä ja liikkeitä käsitellään ihmisten ja muiden eläinlajien aivoissa? Missä määrin sosiaalisten eleiden käsittely on samankaltaista eri eläinlajeilla? Kurssiteksteistä keskustelun vuoksi läsnäolo luennoilla on erityisen tärkeää.
https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/44355/lomake.html
Kurssille voidaan ottaa max 25 opiskelijaa. Kurssin osallistujat valitaan hakijoiden omien hakuperusteiden mukaan edustaen mahdollisimman hyvin kurssiaiheen poikkitieteisyyttä, ja kurssille mukaan pääsystä ilmoitetaan kaikille kurssille hakijoille spostitse 30.9.2013 mennessä.
Oppimateriaali jaetaan kurssin yhteydessä luennoilla ja kurssin kotisivuilla, käyttäjätunnuksen ja salasanan saa luennoilla.
Kurssin suoritus: Aktiivinen läsnäolo luennoilla (1 op). Mahdollisuus lisäopintopisteisiin: väliessee (2 op) + lopputentti (3 op). Kurssin opintopisteet ANIWELin oodikoodilla; opiskelija on itse vastuullinen huolehtimaan kurssin hyväksyttämisestä ja sisällyttämisestä omaan opinto-ohjelmaansa.
