The 18th Nordic Conference on Systematic Theology (Helsinki, Jan 2016)

Among the keynotes of this conference was General Secretary of the World Council of Churches Olav Fykse Tveit and the Special Guests of the conference were Archbishop of the Church of Sweden Antje Jackelén and Bishop of Porvoo Björn Vikström.

Tolerating Human Fragility Open Symposium (22 April)

Do we need to reinvent the concept of toleration taking into account the condition that all human beings have to be tolerated in one way or another?

The speakers of this open symposium at the University of Helsinki (Main Building, AUD II, on Wednesday, 22 April 2015, 13:15-17:30) are doctoral students of systematic theology, mainly in social ethics. Our guest speaker (via Skype) from São Paulosta is Dr. Khalid Tailche, presenting on Tolerance beyond Superiority in the Formation of Non-Violent Identities.

Religion and Development Cooperation Round Table, Open (17 April, in Finnish)

The Faculty of Theology, University of Helsinki, has invited, with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland and Kepa, organizations and specialists to discuss religion and development cooperation. The topics of the discussion include health and equality, but also other issues of development cooperation are welcome.

The event (in Finnish) is open to all, without registration, and takes Place on 17 April 2015 from 9:00 to 11:45 in Porthania III (first floor), University of Helsinki, Yliopistonkatu 3.

This event at University of Helsinki, WED 25 Feb 12-18, includes presenations by our quest lecturer Abu Sayem from Dhaka/Göttingen as well as presentations by the teachers and students involved in the master’s degree program Religion, Conflict, and Dialogue (RCD) at the Faculty of Theology.
