Ulla´s the Lead for the Global campus product development team and makes sure they have everything they need to revolutionise online education. Not only is she an award-winning EdTech innovator with loads of work experience in developing learning technologies, but she´s also done EdTech studies at Harvard. Working with over 100 EdTech start-ups and facilitating their work at the first EdTech Incubator and innovation centre in Finland, she has been a major player in building a vibrant EdTech community in Finland.
Her special interest has been to explore the use of extended reality (XR) in education. She has authored a teacher´s guide on virtual reality for the National Board of Education of Finland, mentored XR start-ups and joined several global panels in this field. She is an advisor for EDUTech Europe organisation and for the Finnish Virtual Reality Association (FIVR).
She has the mission to find innovative approaches for sustainability education and she has worked as an instructional designer at the Arctic Initiative project at Harvard Belfer Center. She believes in designing learning content that is relevant to different cultures and valuing the diversity of students. As a former Chair of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki HYY she takes student engagement in higher education seriously.
