Globally acknowledged expert on research impact, Professor Nicol Keith and Research Impact Manager Rose-Marie Barbeau (University of Glasgow) will hold an intense, advanced impact workshop at UH’s City Centre Campus on October 5th, 2017 (9:00–15:00, University main building, Runeberg hall, Fabianinkatu 33).

Workshop 1: ‘From research to impact: what is it and how do we get there?’
Session led by Rose-Marie Barbeau.

During the workshop you will learn how to identify, plan for, encourage and evidence your research impact, regardless of your academic discipline. The workshop consists of a seminar followed by an interactive activity session.

The workshop will cover:
·What impact is (and why we care)
·Planning your impact: interrogating your research
·Maximising your impact: working smarter and communicating effectively
·Evidencing your impact: plan ahead, capture as you go

Lunch break

Workshop 2: The role of co-creation and impact in generating influence and reputation. Session led by Nicol Keith.
The workshop focused on how can we systemise our knowledge and expertise around co-creation and impact to enhance reputation and influence at the personal and institute level. The workshop consists of a seminar followed by an interactive activity session.

The workshop will cover:

·Benchmarking research activities to understand what we have and what we need
·Mining research activities to highlight and understand co-creation and impact activities.
