World Archaeological Congress in Kyoto, Japan

ilmakuvaProject researcher Oula Seitsonen is taking part in the Eighth World Archaeological Congress in Kyoto, Japan 26.8.-2.9.2016. He will be presenting some or our findings from Lapland in the session “Marking the Land” (organized by Gail Higginbottom and Thomas Whitley). Oula’s presentation will discuss the marking and signifying of World War II sites after the the war, and the various ways they have, both literally and figuratively, been haunted by the ghosts of the war in the local folklore.
