The University of Helsinki received 4700 applications to its master’s programmes in the call that closed on Jan 10th, 2020. This is an increase of over 20% over the previous year.
Two of the three most popular programmes of the university are in the Faculty of Science: MSc in Data Science is #1, tied with MSc in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability with 355 applications each, while MSc in Computer Science is #3 with 269 applications. In 2019, the numbers of applicants were 278 and 225, respectively, so the increase has been 28% and 20%, respectively.
In addition, BSc in Science received at this stage more than twice the number of applications over the previous year, 148 applications.
