Aalto-Helsinki iGEM

The iGEM Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of synthetic biology, education and competition, and the development of an open community and collaboration. Through the iGEM Competition, the world’s largest synthetic biology competition, multidisciplinary student teams from all over the world compete for medals and awards by designing, building, and testing projects using synthetic biology. The Aalto-Helsinki iGEM team is a group of ten students from the University of Helsinki and Aalto University who work together to design and prototype a synthetic biology project. HiLIFE supports the Aalto-Helsinki iGEM team by sponsoring the team’s activities and by providing mentorship to the students throughout the development of their project.
