Dayla – Plant Sciences, MSc

I’m Dayla, a first-year master’s student from the United States interested in how biotechnology can be used to improve plant resilience in a changing climate.

For four months of spring 2023, I will work with Norway spruce, poplar, and leatherwood to improve our understanding of the role of lignin, a macromolecule involved in structural support and water transport, in these species.

I’m excited to work with trees and I plan to use my experiences as a trainee to help me decide if I want to pursue a PhD after my master’s degree!
