Painonhallinnalla virtaa ja hyvää oloa: tee painonhallinasta itsellesi ystävä!

elämäntapamuutosMitä sinulle merkitsee sana painonhallinta? Kalskahtaako sana ja aihe jotenkin negatiiviselta?  Painonhallitsemisen ei tulisi olla taakka, vaan osa ihan tavallista elämää; sen sijaan, että painosta tulee yksi stressitekijä muiden joukkoon, tehdäänkin itselle hyvää. Itse vaa’an loppulukema on yleensä oheistuote.

UniSportin ravitsemusasiantuntijana toimiva Laura Toivola kertoo, miten painonhallinnasta voi tehdä positiivisen, energiaa ja hyvää oloa – niin henkistä kuin fyysistäkin sellaista – antavan osan normaalia, hyvää elämää. Lauran valmennuksista kerrotaan lisää jutun lopussa.

”Hyvältä näyttää – ainakin noin numeroina”

Syksy edustaa monelle uutta alkua myös syömisen osalta. Ylimääräisistä kiloista ja vanhoista huonoista tavoista halutaan eroon ja tilalle toivotaan elinvoimaisempaa, keveämpää arkea. Muutosta toivoo usein nopeasti, totta kai. Kun visio on jo mielessä, se myös halutaan viedä käytäntöön niin pian kuin mahdollista.

Nopeiten uusiin painotavoitteisiin pääsee systemaattisella ruokavalio-ohjelmalla, jossa energiansaanti tiputetaan kulutusta pienemmäksi. Kolmen kuukauden päästä painoa on voinut lähteä 10 kiloa, tai enemmänkin, riippuen dieetistä. Hyvältä näyttää, ainakin noin numeroina.

Toisaalta on hyvä kysyä, kauanko dieetin mukaista elämäntapaa jaksaisi noudattaa. Kolme kuukautta, vai kolmekymmentä vuotta?”

Painonpudotuksessa ja muutenkin elintapamuutoksissa on erityisen tärkeää se, mitä mielessä tapahtuu prosessin aikana. Ulkoapäin ohjattu laihduttaminen jättää sisälle helposti tyhjiön. Jos syöminen on alusta asti kontrolloitua eikä lipsumisia mielellään sallita, voi kymmenen tiputetun kilon jälkeen olla edelleen vaikeaa syödä rennosti ja sopivan sallivasti, tavalla, joka istuu omaan elämäntyyliin.

Omaa arkea ja omia mieltymyksiä sekä rajoitteita tarkastelemalla painonpudotus on ehkä hitaampaa kuin ohjeiden mukainen ruoka-aineiden punnitseminen, mutta hitaampi tapa tuottaa kuitenkin todennäköisemmin pysyvän lopputuloksen, jossa painon hallitseminen ei ole taakka vaan ihan tavallista elämää. Sen sijaan, että painosta tulee yksi stressitekijä muiden joukkoon, tehdäänkin itselle hyvää!

Jos suunnittelet painonpudotusta, mieti hetki, millaiset elämäntavat parantaisivat omaa oloa ja tukisivat jaksamista työssä ja opinnoissa. Hyvään alkuun pääsee riittävällä yöunella, itselle sopivalla ruokarytmillä, kasvisten lisäämisellä ja sillä, että nauttii omat lempiherkkunsa hyvällä omallatunnolla.
