PT DUO -parivalmennuksessa kaveri tsemppaa huonot päivät hyviksi

Personal Trainerin eli yksilövalmentajan apuun turvaudutaan, kun halutaan uutta potkua liikuntaan ja hyvinvointiin liittyviin tavoitteisiin.

Useimmiten Personal Trainerin pakeille hakeudutaan yksin, mutta yksilöllisen ohjauksen ohella suosiotaan ovat kasvattaneet viime vuosina myös DUO-valmennukset. Niissä valmennukseen hakeudutaan ystävän, puolison tai vaikkapa kollegan kanssa. DUO-parivalmennus on hyvä vaihtoehto erityisesti sosiaalisille treenaajille, jotka saavat treenistä enemmän irti kaverin seurassa.

Helsingin yliopistossa opiskelevat Camilla ja Marie päättivät syksyllä 2015 kokeilla UniSportin DUO PT -valmennusta. PT-jaksoa ajatellen kaksikolla oli tavoitteena saada liikkuminen vahvemmin osaksi arkea ja sitä kautta kunnon ja hyvinvoinnin edistäminen.

Nyt kun PT DUO -valmennusta on takana reilu vuosi, kysyimme, miten tavoitteet ovat toteutuneet ja mitä uutta yhteistyö PT:n kanssa on tuonut heidän harjoitteluunsa ja arkeensa.

Mikä innosti teidät alun alkaen hankkimaan Personal Trainerin ja millaisia tavoitteita teillä oli pt-jakson alussa?

C: Tavoitteenamme oli saada liikkuminen luontevaksi osaksi arkea. Halusimme myös saada lisää tehoa treeniin ja sitä kautta kiinteyttä kroppaan. Meillä molemmilla oli jonkun verran treenitaustaa, mutta ei oikeastaan tietoa eikä taitoa, miten kannattaisi edetä näissä tavoitteissa.

M: Alussa tavoitteena oli yleisesti ottaen saavuttaa parempi kunto ja lisätä hyvinvointia. Halusimme määrätietoisemmin edistää näitä asioita ja Personal Training oli siihen hyvältä vaikuttava keino. Halusimme myös oppia käyttämään kuntosalilaitteita oikein, koska niistä ei ollut kummallakaan paljon kokemusta.

 

Mitä pidätte parhaimpina saavutuksinanne PT-valmennuksessa ja mistä koette olleen eniten hyötyä personal training –yhteistyössä?

C: Tärkeintä on ollut se, että treenistä on tullut yhteistyön myötä osa arkea ja sitä kautta keho ja mieli voivat paljon paremmin. Treenistä saa nyt paljon enemmän irti, kun ollaan opittu oikeiden tekniikoiden lisäksi oikea tapa treenata ja syömiseen liittyviä olennaisia asioita. On motivoivaa nähdä, miten edistyy erilaisissa kuntosaliliikkeissä ja miten lihaskunto on kehittynyt.

M: Olen ylpeä siitä, miten olemme Camin kanssa pystyneet sitoutumaan treeniin ja saaneet hyvin kehitystä aikaan. On ollut mukava seurata esim. InBody-mittauksilla, millaista kehitystä on tullut.

 

Millaisia ennakko-oletuksia teillä oli Personal Trainingistä ja ovatko ne muuttuneet pt-jakson aikana?

C: Ajattelin, että Personal Training olisi niin kuin tv:ssä, että PT on mukana joka kerta salilla seisomassa ja huutamassa mitä pitää tehdä 😀 Aika paljon ovat ajatukset muuttuneet siitä. Parasta on, että valmennusjaksolla pystyy toimimaan omien tarpeiden mukaan itsenäisestikin ja apua ja neuvoja saa kun niitä tarvitsee.

M: En muista oliko minulla sen suurempia ennakko-oletuksia. Olen ollut kyllä tyytyväinen, minkä takia PT-valmennus jatkuu edelleen yli vuoden jälkeenkin. Yksi tavoitteista oli se, että urheilusta tulisi osa arkea ja kynnys mennä salille poistuisi. Tuossa tavoitteessa on onnistuttu, ja salilla on nyt mukavaa käydä, kun tietää mitä tehdä.

 

 

Mitä uusia puolia olette löytäneet itsestänne Personal Trainingin myötä?

C: Elämä on muuttunut aika paljon viime vuoden aikana, mutta ehkä suurin muutos on tapahtunut prioriteeteissa. Tässä on saanut huomata, kuinka hyvin sitä voi kun liikkuu säännöllisesti, yrittää syödä hyvin ja nukkuu tarpeeksi. Liian suuria muutoksia ei silti ole ollut eikä mitään ole oikeastaan tarvinnut jättää kokonaan pois. Uusia puolia itsestäni en ole ehkä suoraan löytänyt, mutta on ollut kiva huomata, mitä kaikkea voi saavuttaa kun vain on valmis tekemään töitä sen eteen.

M: En reilu vuosi sitten uskonut, että minusta löytyy puoli, joka oikeasti nauttii urheilusta. Olen huomannut myös, että kokonaisuuden kannata itselleni vaikea puoli ei ole niinkään salilla käynti, vaan oikean ruokavalion noudattaminen.

 

Millä tavalla yhdessä otettu DUO-PT –paketti on vaikuttanut kaveruuteenne ja onko jokin asia muuttunut sen myötä?

C: Afterwork-bisset on vaihtunut aamusaliin 😀 kaveruus on ehkä parempi kuin ennen tai ei ainakaan ole huonontunut. Kun molemmilla on samat tavoitteet ja sama asenne tekemiseen niin ei ole tullut riitoja tms. Välillä on vähän aikatauluhaasteita, mutta aika hyvin on lopulta löytynyt aikaa yhteistreenille. Se on vaan niin paljon mukavampaa treenata kaverin kanssa kuin yksin – jos itsellä on huono päivä niin toinen voi tsempata ja lopulta saakin hyvän treenin aikaiseksi.

M: Tämän PT-yhteistyön myötä aikaa tulee vietettyä enemmän yhdessä, ja yleensä jos toisella on huono päivä niin toinen jaksaa aina tsempata toista.

 

Mitä tavoitteita/lupauksia teillä on vuodelle 2017?

C: Vuonna 2017 halutaan jatkaa samaan malliin ja kehittyä vielä enemmän. Mitään suoranaisia lupauksia tai tavoitteita ei ole, mutta tänä vuonna voisi laittaa ehkä vähän enemmän fokusta kehon huollolle voimatreenin lisäksi.

M: Kehonhuollolle ja aerobiselle liikunnalle pyrin antamaan enemmän aikaa.

 

Mikä on parasta UniSportissa?

C: Unisportissa on parasta monipuolisuus. On ryhmätunteja, yksilöpalveluita, omatoimista treeniä jne. Tietysti opiskelijaystävälliset hinnat ovat myös suurta plussaa.
