Welcome to study geosciences at the University of Helsinki! Our student organisation Vasara will help you along your studies and student life. For more info on our organisation head here.

Orientation week will be organised both as onsite and online sessions during week 35. You will find detailed information on your faculty’s orientation week activities on this page before the orientation week.

Becoming a member:
The membership fee is 5 € for the academic year. The payment can be made by mobilepay or via bank transfer according to these instructions.  After paying the membership fee, the members will be able to join the events of Vasara including sauna evenings, parties and excursions.

Some titbits:

Kasvis meaning Greenhouse is Vasara’s student lounge in Physicum. There you can find a refrigerator, a microwave, a kettle and a coffee maker. The coffee fee is 6 € per period or 50 cents per cup. Bring your own cup! Everyone is responsible for cleaning after themselves in Kasvis.
Vasara online: Our student organization has a WhatsApp group, ask your tutors for the link. We’re quite active on our Instagram and Discord server as well.
In addition we have a page on Facebook that you can like as well as our sports group.
