PI was invited to give a talk at the Department of Earth Sciences, FU Berlin, Germany, on 2nd of May. The subject of the talk was assimilation and Magma Chamber Simulator. Dr. Elis Hoffmann and his colleagues were great hosts and a lot of students also attended the lecture. Elis’s speciality are some of the earliest rocks on Earth and it is possible that Magma Chamber Simulator will be harnessed to solve some problems related to their differentiation.

In other fronts, a lot of manuscripts are being prepared so the project seems to finally be shifting to the publishing stage. More on those later!

PI kutsuttiin esitelmöimään Berliinin vapaaseen yliopistoon. Esitelmän aihe oli assimilaatio ja Magmakammiosimulaattorin käyttö sen mallinnuksessa. Dr. Elis Hoffmann ja hänen kollegansa olivat loistavia isäntiä ja myös paljon opiskelijoita osallistui luennolle. Elisin erikoisalaa ovat eräät maailman vanhimmista kivistä ja on mahdollista, että simulaattoria käytetään tulevaisuudessa niiden kehittymisen mallintamiseen.

Muuten projekti alkaa viimein siirtyä julkaisuvaiheeseen – useita käsikirjoituksia on lähetetty tai tekeillä. Näistä lisää myöhemmin!
