Kontakti Goes Sociology Talks

Sociology Talks is a seminar series hosted by the staff of the sociology unit of the University of Helsinki. The series brings up perspectives on changing topics, such as recent research and other interesting phenomena. The students study are also warmly welcome to join the event.

The next Sociology Talks will be held on Wednesday 30.11., starting at 13.15. The event will take place in Soc&Kom (Snellmanninkatu 12) room 234.

The topic of the Sociology Talks is:

Research on migration and racialisation in the Nordics
– Where are we now and where are we heading to?

Interested about these social phenomena? Join Kontakti to hear about them! You can meet us in the lobby of Soc&Kom at 13.00 from where we will move together to the event.

This special panel session examines the current state of play in scholarly work on migration and racialisation processes, in and across the Nordic region. Join us for a lively and inclusive discussion between panellists and the audience as to where we are currently and where we are going in the understanding of such matters.

Panellists include Lena Näre (Chairperson; https://researchportal.helsinki.fi/fi/persons/lena-näre), Mette Andersson (https://www.sv.uio.no/…/english/people/aca/mettan/index.html), Alemanji Aminkeng Atabong (https://researchportal.helsinki.fi/…/alemanji-aminkeng…) and Olivia Maury (https://researchportal.helsinki.fi/en/persons/olivia-maury).
