PhD Johanna Isosävi’s dissertation (2010) concerns forms of address in French films and their Finnish translations. In her post doc, she has examined the use of first names in Starbucks cafés in Helsinki and Paris (with Hanna Lappalainen). She served as co-editor of the book ”Saako sinutella vai täytyykö teititellä? Tutkimuksia eurooppalaisten kielten puhuttelukäytännöistä” (How should one address an interlocutor? Studies on address practices in European languages; Finnish Literature Society, 2015) with Hanna Lappalainen. She is now working as a University Lecturer of French translation at the University of Turku. Earlier she worked at the University of Helsinki.
