China Law activities receive 100 000 € from Teknologiateollisuuden 100-vuotissäätiö

Teknologiateollisuuden 100-vuotissäätiö has granted in April 2013, 100 000€ of funding for China law research and education at the Faculty of Law, University of Helsinki.

One way the fund will be used is to support the doctoral project “Managing Contractual Risks – Indemnification for third party IPR claims in connection with the commercialization of technology by Finnish technology companies” conducted by Timo Sipi under the supervision of Professor Mika Hemmo.

The dissertation will include China in relation to the potential IPR risks arising from the use of Chinese companies as subcontractors for the technology to be commercialized. In addition, the study includes the study about the possibilities to cover that risk through adequate indemnification clauses negotiated with Chinese companies.
