Professor Ulla Liukkunen visited China for the first time as the Center’s Director

Professor Ulla Liukkunen has made her first visit to China as the Director of the Finnish China Law Center. She traveled with a larger delegation bringing together representatives from the Law Faculties of the University of Helsinki, University of Lapland and University of Turku as well as representatives of the Academy of Finland.

The agenda of this nine day visit started with the joint “Symposium on Sino-Nordic Judicial Theory” at Fudan University in Shanghai and ended with the 5th Sino-Finnish International Seminar on Comparative Law: “Rule of Law and Economic and Social Development” in Beijing.

The Center representatives, the Director and the Chair of the Board, Professor Kimmo Nuotio, visited also the Nordic Center as well as Shanghai Jiaotong Univeristy Law School according to the plan.

The trip was very successful and Professor Liukkunen would like to thank all the organizers and the Chinese partners for their warm welcome and enthusiasm towards the Center.

Special appreciation is directed towards Mika Tirronen and his spouse Ms. Juulia Jyränki, who on the behalf of the Embassy of Finland in Beijing arranged a great reception to celebrate the establishment of our Center.
