POLEEMI III: Sisällä, rajalla, globaalina
Uutisvirta pyörii, pauhaa, lähes huutaa. ”Globalisaatio, neonationalismi, identiteettipolitiikka, muukalaisviha!”. Näistä aineksistako tämä päivä on tehty? Ehkä, mutta miksi? Ja toisaalta, onko koko totuus siinä?
Maailma muuttuu, varmaan nopeammin kuin koskaan ennen. Samalla, kun liikumme kiihtyvällä vauhdilla eteenpäin, liikumme myös lähemmäksi toisiamme. Etäisyys tuntuu menettävän merkitystään yhä globaalimmassa ja puristuneemmassa maailmassa. Samalla, kun liikumme lähemmäksi toisiamme, lainaamme, opimme ja muokkaamme omaa toimintaamme. Puhutaan hybridismistä, synkretismistä ja kosmopolitanismista.
Voisi ajatella, että meistä tulee samanlaisia. Osittain se onkin totta, mutta samalla tiedostamme yhä vahvemmin välillämme vallitsevat erot ja ristiriidat. Huomatessamme ristiriidat, voimme myös huomata, ettei maailma ole tasa-arvoinen tai yhteinäinen vielä vuonna 2019 – päinvastoin. Erot ovat näkyvämpiä ja jyrkempiä, kuin ehkä koskaan ennen.
Olemme siis yhtä aikaa niin sisällä, rajalla kuin globaalina. Globaalin ajan kasvatin identiteetti ei olekaan siis ehkä niin yksinkertaisesti selitettävissä, kuin voisimme kuvitella. POLEEMI III/2019 paneutuukin syksyn ensimmäisessä numerossa juuri näihin teemoihin ja kysymyksiin.
Poleemin päätoimitus kutsuu sinut pohtimaan kanssamme näitä ajatuksia syksyn ensimmäiseen toimituskokoukseen! Etsimme jälleen joukkoja tekijöitä, jotka ovat valmiina kirjoittamaan, kuvittaamaan tai taittaamaan lehteämme. Ei haittaa, jos sinulla ei ole vielä juttuideaa valmiina mielessä. Autamme sinua sellaisen keksimisessä. Joukkoomme voit myös liittyä ainoastaan ideoimaan teeman pohjalta ja nauttimaan hyvästä seurasta.

POLEEMI III: Inside, On the Border, Global
The news roll, roar, almost shout. ”Globalization, neonationalsm, identity politics, hatred!” Are these what the contemporary is made of? If it is, then we ask why? Is this infact the whole truth?
The world is changing with a pace faster than ever before. As we run forward we also come closer and closer to eachother. Distance seems to lose its meaning in this globalized and compressed world. And as we come closer to one another we barrow, learn and adjust our own behaviour. The words for this are hybridism, syncronism ans cosmopolitanism. One could think that we are becoming more alike. At the same time it might be somewhat true, we are also coming more and more aware of the differences and controversies between us. Through these controversies we can realize, that the world is still not equal nor unified – infact the opposite. The differences are more visible and wider than perhaps ever before.
We are all at once inside, bordering and global. The identity of a globalized human is perhaps not so easily defined as one would think. POLEEMI III/2019 dives into these themes and questions.
POLEEMI invites you to think these thoughts with us in the first meeting and publication of the autumn season! We are looking for people ready and eager to write, illustrate and edit our magazine. Lacking of ideas is not an issue, we are willing to help you come up with one. You can also join us just to discuss the topic or enjoy good company.
