About

Voices for Sustainability was established to make sustainability science more approachable and visible in society. The idea behind the blog is to provide a platform for researchers, students and other experts to bring up important topics in sustainability and to share their work with larger audience. Voices for Sustainability is a result of cooperation between HELSUS, ECGS and Resilience.

HELSUS – the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science contributes to sustainability transformations of societies by means of inter- and transdisciplinary research and education. HELSUS co-creates knowledge through research, experiments, living labs and best practices for national and international policy, private sector and civil society. HELSUS forms an attractive international environment for researchers and facilitates partnerships in areas of research and innovations for the sustainable future.

ECGS is the Master’s program of Environmental Change and Global Sustainability in University of Helsinki. As global socio-ecological problems transcend the usual boundaries of science and decision-making, there is a pressing need for multidisciplinary solutions. ECGS aims at improving collaboration between different fields of study/research and providing solution-oriented approach to students.

Resilience is a network founded in autumn 2018 by students of the ECGS Master’s programme. Network aims at connecting sustainability science students and other interested in the field of sustainability science to share ideas.
