Det finns tre huvudämnen att välja emellan: historia, nordisk litteratur och nordiska språk. Studierna leder till en filosofie magisterexamen i ett av dessa ämnen som utgör en utmärkt bas för en yrkeskarriär inom förlag, marknadsföring, medier och övrig offentlig informationsförmedling.

Vad fick dig att välja Kultur & kommunikation, Jennifer?

Jag kände några som studerade på programmet och de rekommenderade det varmt. Jag gick in på magisterprogrammets hemsida och tittade på kurserna som erbjöds och tyckte att utbudet verkade intressant. Jag valde nordisk litteratur som huvudämne eftersom jag läste det som biämne då jag studerade filosofi.

Vad har du tyckt om studierna?

En fördel är att lärarna på programmet har tänkt väldigt mycket på arbetslivet. Vi får inte enbart teoretisk kunskap utan också praktiska färdigheter. Jag har hittills faktiskt inget att kritisera, de lyssnar på studenterna och vill gärna ha feedback. En kurs som riktar sig till arbetslivet har till exempel tillkommit på studenternas initiativ.

Går det att studera helt och hållet på svenska?

Vi har faktiskt en student på min årskurs som kommer från Tjeckien som läst Norden-studier innan och knappt kan någon finska. Nästan allt går på svenska och om det är någon artikel på finska brukar lärarna hitta ersättande artiklar på andra språk, man behöver faktiskt inte finska alls.
