Brest-Litovskin rauhan satavuotispäivät 3. maaliskuuta tulee tuskin nostamaan Venäjällä lippuja salkoon tai kyyneliä ihmisten silmäkulmiin. Onneksi Pietarissa häpeärauha ei jää pyörimään asukkaiden mieliin kovin pitkäksi aikaa – miten he voisivat jäädä melankolian syvään kurimukseen, kun Taso ja Polho saapuvat paikalle antamaan paljon muuta huolenaihetta. Kevään perioditaukona pakkaamme laukkumme, otamme suunnan auringonnoususta ja lähdemme valloittamaan pohjoisen Venetsiaa omaksemme!
Lähtekää siis mukaan Tason ja Polhon kevätmatkalle Pietariin 5.-9. maaliskuuta! Perivenäläiseen tapaan ainoa tyyli nauttia yleensä ottaen mistään on tehdä se hyvässä seurassa, ottakaamme siis tästä periaatteesta vaariin ja kolutkaamme historian täyteinen suurkaupunki lävitse loistavalla seikkailijaporukalla! Tule viettämään kevään ensimmäisiä päiviä naapurin suurkaupunkiin, jossa mahorkka palaa, vodka virtaa ja balalaika soi!

Tason ja Polhon kulttuurivastaavat Verne ja Leonard lähtevät Pietariin maanantaina 5.3. ja paluu Helsinkiin koittaa perjantaina 9.3. Jokainen on itse vastuussa viisumin hankkimisesta ja matkojen varaamisesta Pietariin. Me varaamme kuitenkin perinteen mukaisesti halvan yhteismajoituksen Pietarin historiallisesta keskustasta. Hinta-arvio neljältä yöltä on 20-30 euroa per henkilö. Viisumi Venäjälle maksaa halvimmillaan 74 euroa, jonka lisäksi tarvitset passikuvan viisumia varten. Viisumin hakemisen on tapahduttava viimeistään kaksi viikkoa ennen lähtöä! Meno-paluu junalippu Pietariin maksaa tällä hetkellä kyseisille päiville noin 100-110 euroa. Kuitenkin junien lisäksi Pietariin pääsee myös busseilla, joilla meno-paluu maksaa noin 50 euroa. Viisumi, majoitus ja matkat tulevat siis arviolta kustantamaan noin 150-230 euroa per henkilö.
Matkalle ilmoittautuminen tapahtuu E-lomakkeen kautta, joka julkaistaan maanantaina 29. tammikuuta kello 12 Facebookissa sekä Yhmun sähköpostilistalla. E-lomake sulkeutuu sunnuntaina 4. helmikuuta kello 23:59, jonka jälkeen matkalle ei enää ole mahdollista ilmoittautua. Ilmoittautumisessa etusijalla ovat Polho Ry:n ja Tason Ry:n jäsenet, joiden lisäksi tilaa jäädessä muut yhteiskunnallisen muutoksen opiskelijat ovat tervetulleita matkalle. Järjestämme majoituksen enintään 30:lle osallistujalle, joten toimi nopeasti! Tämän yli menevien osalta majoituksen hankkiminen on omatoimista, mutta seuraan saa edelleen ilman muuta liittyä. Mukaan päässeet vahvistetaan maanantaina 5. helmikuuta. Huomaathan, että ilmoittautuminen matkalle on sitova!

With all probability the 100th year anniversary of the Brest-Litovsk peace treaty on March 3rd will not manifest itself in Russia as flagging or teary eyes. Luckily for St. Petersburg the disgraceful peace won’t stay on the citizen’s minds for long – how could they remain in the deep vortex of melancholia when Taso and Polho will arrive and give them other things to worry about. During the period interval we will pack our bags, head towards the sunrise and conquer the Venice of the North to ourselves!
So join the Spring voyage of Taso and Polho in St. Petersburg between March 5th and 9th! In classical Russian tradition if anything is to be enjoyed it must be done in good company. Let us adopt this principle and roam through the history-filled city amid a wonderful and lively gang of adventurers! Come and spend the first days of Spring in the neighboring metropole and smell the burning mahorca, taste the streams of vodka and hear the playing of the balalaika!

The tour organizers Verne and Leonard are going to St. Petersburg on Monday the 5th of March and returning to Helsinki on Friday the 9th of March. Each participant is responsible for getting a valid Visa to Russia and booking their train or bus tickets to St Petersburg. As always, we will organize an accommodation for all the participants from the historical center of St Petersburg. The accommodation will cost approximately 20-30 euros for four nights per person. The visa costs about 74 to 82 euros, depending on the travel agency. The visa must be applied for at least two weeks before the travels start! The cost of the train tickets for a round trip is at this moment 100-110 euros. Besides trains there are also cheap busses going to St Petersburg, for about 50 euros a round trip. So, the visa, accommodation and bus or train will cost around 150 to 230 euros per person.
Signing up for the trip will be done with an E-form that will be published on Monday the 29th of January at 12 o’clock on Facebook and on the Yhmu mailing list. The E-form closes on Sunday the 4th of February at 23:59, after which it´s not anymore possible to sign up for the trip. The members of Polho Ry and Taso Ry are the priority group and might some places remain vacant all students of yhmu are welcome to join the trip. We’ll arrange accommodations for 30 participants maximum, so act quickly! While obtaining accommodations is independent for those applicants who might be left out, the trip is open for everyone to join. The final group shall be notified by the 5th of February. Please notice that signing up for the trip is binding!
