Waiting for Barcelona

El documental Waiting for Barcelona (2018) de Juho-Pekka Tanskanen ha sido nominado para los premios Jussi. Si aún no lo has visto, tendrás una oportunidad el miércoles 6 de febrero a las 21.25 horas en Kinopalatsi (Helsinki).

El documental aborda el drama de la inmigración desde la perspectiva de Mou, un gambiano de 27 años, que espera a que se regularice su situación mientras intenta sobrevivir en las calles de Barcelona.

Multilingual Poetry Reading and Talk in Helsinki

Sivuvalo will host U.S. poet and scholar Randi W. Stebbins, who will share her poetry as well as her experiences as an active writer, cultural promoter, and editor in Iceland. José Luis Rico (MEX) and Roxana Crisólogo (PER) will offer a brief introduction of Stebbins’s work and conduct a Q&A about the stakes of collective writing and multilingual publishing in the Nordic realm. The event will be conducted in English. The poetry reading will be in English and Spanish.

About Randi W. Stebbins: Several careers, countries, and languages have shaped Randi’s writing, teaching, and coaching. She writes at the margins between science and society, logic and love, and sound and poetry. Her work has appeared in the exhibitions We are Ós/Þetta er Us (Reykjavík and Akureyri) and Art Gamers (Iceland and Poland), at cultural events, and in the publications CV2 (Canada), Swooping in and Pulling Out (Iceland) and Ós-The Journal (Iceland).
