Kirjailijavieraana Tanya Tynjälä

  • Laajasalon kirjasto
  • 11.4.2019 klo 17:30 – 18:30

Perulaissyntyinen, espanjaksi kirjoittava Tanya Tynjälä kertoo kirjailijan työstä. Hänen kirjoituksia on ilmestynyt useammassa antologioissa eri maissa.

Tynjälän novelli Rituaali (suom. Jyrki Lappi-Seppälä) on julkaistu kirjassa Suomalaisia saunanovelleja: Juhani Ahosta Mikko Rimmiseen (Aviador, 2017).

Tilaisuudessa voi ostaa Aviador-kustantamon kirjoja.

Tervetuloa!

Teoksessa Suomalaisia saunanovelleja on koottu yksiin kansiin kahdenkymmenen suomalaisen kirjailijan saunanäkemykset.

Talk on writing and publishing in Sweden and Finland with writers with different mother tongues

In relation to Nordic Culture Point’s thematic Migration and International Mother Language Day on March 20th, Nordic multilingual literature project NolitchX and Sivuvalo invite to a conversation with poets Najlaa Eltom (Sudan/Sweden), Petra Mölstad (Sweden), and José Luis Rico Carrillo (Mexico/Finland) on their experience of writing and publishing in the Nordic countries Finland and Sweden.

What is the relationship between writing and migration? Does a writer’s use of her or his mother tongue change with migration, through living and writing in a foreign context? Where does a Sudanese poet in Sweden or a Mexican poet in Finland publish her or his work? Is it really easier for Finnish, Finnish Swedish and Swedish poets to publish their work in Finland and Sweden?

The poets will also read some of their work. The poems will be read in the original language (Arabic, Spanish and Swedish) with Finnish translations by Sampsa Peltonen, Anne Ketola and Hannimari Heino.
The talk will be moderated by PhD Anne Ketola and held in English.

Organized by NolitchX and Sivuvalo Platform
With support from Nordic Culture Point

Exposición Crossing Borders / Rajojen yli en Jyväskylä

Galleria Ratamo (Veturitallinkatu 6, 40100 Jyväskylä), 7 de febrero – 3 de marzo

Rajojen yli -näyttely (scroll down for English version)

Miten ihmiset tuntevat kuuluvansa ryhmiin ja paikkoihin?
Miten he kertovat, esittävät, tuottavat ja kyseenalaistavat kuulumista?

Tervetuloa!

Rajojen yli (http://croboarts.org/) on Jyväskylän yliopiston tutkimushanke. Rahoittaja Suomen Akatemia. Yhteistyökumppanit: Monikulttuurikeskus Gloria ja Jyväskylän taidemuseo.

Crossing Borders exhibition

How do people belong in physical, social and virtual places?
How do they discuss, perform and question belonging and non-belonging?
How can artistic practice help us express and produce different ways of belonging?

These questions are explored in the works presented in the Crossing Borders Exhibition in Gallery Ratamo. The exhibits – writings, installations, paintings, sculptures, video and other sound and visual art works – have been created by 20 artists who took part in workshops aiming to cross borders between language, arts and research.

The exhibition is open during Ratamo’s opening hours Tue-Su at 11am-6pm. Free entrance. Welcome!
