Helsinki University Library will provide an introduction to open science in a webinar to be held on November 13 and 20, 2020. The webinar consists of two independent parts. The emphasis is on open publishing. Target groups are researchers, teachers and support services, but anyone interested is welcomed.

Every aspect of research data management (RDM) is equally important and all parts of the process need to be properly discussed and planned. Poor data management planning (DMP) is a risk that can potentially cause problems for the research project. Avoimesta tieteestä keskustelu ja sen edistäminen ovat voimistuneet valtavasti viime vuosina. Tässä keskustelussa ei aina muisteta sitä, miten tiiviisti myös oppimisen ja opetuksen avoimuus linkittyvät avoimeen tieteeseen. Maantieteen yliopisto-opetuksessa olemme huomanneet, kuinka avoimemmat aineistot, avoimen lähdekoodin ohjelmistot sekä avoin tiedejulkaiseminen ovat vaikuttaneet meidän opetukseemme. Niin kuin tutkimus ja yliopisto-opetus kulkevat käsi kädessä, niin kulkevat myös avoin tiede ja avoin oppiminen.
How are publications posted in institutional repository Helda disseminated around the world? This aspect has not been studied previously, so this blog article looks at this issue with the help of a small random sample. Based on a sample of twelve publications one can establish that publications from the repository are well disseminated into different net services, but there is a lot of variation in indexing related to publication types and service models.

In the first few sections of this blog series, we answered the question: What is research data management (RDM)? In this post, we will provide more detail on the changes in the research process that relate to RDM and explain why it has become increasingly important to understand the significance of RDM.

Opetus siirtyi Helsingin yliopistossa keväällä koronan tieltä pikavauhtia verkkoon, mikä on lisännyt myös avoimesti saatavilla olevan opetuksen määrää. Tässä blogiartikkelissa tarkastellaan Helsingin yliopiston avoimen opetuksen kanavia (mm. Unitube, Youtube, Mooc), opetuksen avoimuuden toteuttamista ja peilataan opetuksen digiloikkaa keväällä järjestettyyn webinaariin, jossa aiheena oli oppimisen avoimuus ja avoimet opetusmateriaalit.
