Basic skills in arithmetic

Basic arithmetic skills in young children are the ability to make simple addition and subtraction tasks with concrete materials and numbers less than twenty (Aunio & Räsänen, 2015). Young children usually use their number word sequence and enumeration skills to solve these addition and subtraction tasks.
